Now Diocesan Champs, Girls Soccer Advances to City Title Game Tomorrow

Diocesan Champion Girls Soccer

The girls varsity soccer team continued its tear through the Catholic League with a 2-1 victory over Notre Dame Academy from Staten Island to capture The A.A. Archdioceses of New York Championship.  Jolynn Magnani and Kerry Brosnan scored a goal apiece for the Lady Gaels, and that was all their defense needed to bring home the title.

The girls advanced to the City Championships against Christ the King of Queens on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 4:15 p.m.  The game will be played at Aviator Field on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn.

A win on Wednesday would earn the Lady Gaels a trip to the State Championship Semi-Finals on Saturday, Nov. 9, versus Nardin Academy of Buffalo, New York.  That game is currently scheduled for 11 a.m., also at Aviator Field.
