The Lady Gaels volleyball team defeated Pawling 3-0 to win the League Championship.

• Cat Purdy had 14 kills and Caroline Erb had 8 kills.
• Kelly Gallagher had 21 assists.
• Lauren Kennedy had 4 aces.

The Lady Gaels will defend their undefeated league record and their undefeated home record against Dover on October 19th and on Senior night (October 20th) against Peekskill.

• 3rd singles Shannon Donohue won 8-4 and is now 11-0 for the season.

JFK’s Varisty Volleyball team continued their undeafeated streak beating Somers today in 3 games with scores of 25-13, 25-4, 25-14.

• This makes the team’s record 7-0.
• Cat Purdy led the team with 6 Aces and 15 Kills.
• While Kelly Gallagher had 27 Assists and 3 Kills.
• Anni Abbruzzese added to the teams victory with 3 Aces and 5 Kills.

Boys Soccer blanked Peekskill today 6-0.

Goals were scored by Mike Ennis, RJ Aprile, Matt Minniter, Hyun Kyo Jung, and two by Kwabena Frimpong.
Assisted by Conor Cassidy, Mike DeMello, and Mike Ennis.
Nick Maddalena made 4 saves to secure the shut-out.
Their next Test is Tuesday at Putnam Valley 4:15 start.

Boys Soccer defeated Poughkeepsie at home yesterday 3 to 1.

• Goals were scored by Mike Ennis (2) and Gareth Esteves.
• Assisted by Matt Minniter, RJ Aprile, and Kevin Brennan.
• Nick Maddalena has 3 saves in goal for the Gaels.
• The Gaels next test is at Beacon friday at 4:30. Wish us luck!

The volleyball team continues its roll by posting another win against league rival Pawling with a score 3-0.

• Cat Purdy led the team with 11 kills.
• Anni Abbruzzese had 9 kills and Caroline Erb had 8 kills.
• Kelly Gallagher had 25 assists.
• The team is now 5-0 and will host Our Lady of Lourdes on September 29, 2011 at 4:15pm. Come watch and support the team!

Girls Varsity Tennis Match Win vs. Pawling Today 3-1-1

• 3rd Singles Shannon Donohue won 6-3 6-0 remaining undefeated 10-0
• 1st Doubles Colleen Nestler and Amanda Peters won 6-1 6-3
• 2nd Doubles Natalie Burke and Elizabeth Terciera won 6-2 6-4
• The girls season now stands 7-3

Girls Varsity Tennis won their match against Poughkeepsie 4-1

• 2nd singles Jax Descloux won 6-0 6-0 as her 3rd straight win
• 3rd singles Shannon Donohue won 6-2 6-0 remaining undefeated at 9-0
• 1st doubles Colleen Nestler and Natalie Burke won their 1st set in a tie breaker and their 2nd set 6-1 becoming 5-2 for the season so far
• 2nd doubles Lauren Kocz and Colleen Cahill won by default
• Game tomorrow September 27th home vs. Pawling

On Saturday, the Gaels were hosted by Nanuet in Rockland County for a head to head game. Although the Gaels did not win, there were some very notable moments. Junior Robby Yurkowski had 17 carries for a total of 178 yards and 3 Touch Downs. Senior Dylan Trodden had “the game of his life” according to Head Coach Rob Schwartz. Finally sophomore newcomer, Tyrus Lawrence, added a new dimension to the team on offense. Look out for the Gaels next week as they play Our Lady of Lourdes High School.

The Kennedy Catholic Lady Gaels improved its record to 4-0 with wins over Peekskill and North Salem. Cat Purdy led the team with 18 kills against Peekskill and 26 kills against North Salem. Kelly Gallahger chipped in 25 assists and 5 aces in the Peekskill game and 20 assists and 8 aces in the North Salem game. Anni Abburuzzese and Caroline Erb also contributed to both wins, with a total of 19 kills and 12 kills respectively.

• The Lady Gaels next game is at home, Tuesday Sept 27th against league rival Pawling.
