KCPS serves up the Stardust Café

By JBMurphy

Inspired by the iconic Ellen’s Stardust Diner in NYC, the Kennedy Catholic Preparatory
School’s Stardust Café was a unique event that tapped into the creativity and talent of the
student body to serve-up an unforgettable Friday night. Like the Stardust Diner, the Café served
an array of food rich in diversity and calories, and apportioned with music and smiles. In fact, the
entire night was one big performance taking a slice from all areas of KC talent, and whipping it
up into a delicacy of decadent delight. The audience consumed heartfelt vocals, devoured soulful
piano solos, chortled upon Comedic condiments, and washed it all down with scintillating guitar.
Each entertaining entrée was cooked-up by a Kennedy kid, and the aroma of familiarity and
welcome was undeniable. Jake Vanga’s piano reminded all at the Café, that they Can’t Help
Falling in Love and I Can Only Imagine that everyone’s heard about his closing the show with
Piano Man! And while the evening has ended, the show must go on! We have raised the curtain
on Kennedy’s student talent, and we look forward to more opening nights that reflect our
community, celebrate our creativity, and put the spotlight on the very best of who we are! We
thank our Student Council for leadership in placing this idea onto the boards. And we salute the
Director-Producer, Principal Viceroy, for making the Stardust Café a night to remember.
