KENNEDY CATHOLIC PREPARATORY CELEBRATES 3 YEARS OF PARTNERSHIP WITH PACE’S LUBIN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS, OPENS BUSINESS LAB

Beginning in Fall of 2022, Kennedy Catholic to offer Lubin Business School students business lab

(February 2022 – Somers, NY) John F. Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School and Pace University’s Lubin School of Business are excited to announce the opening of the Business Lab at Kennedy Catholic Prep.

Kennedy Catholic is proud to be a 3-year partner of PACE University’s “Lubin School of Business”.  Kennedy’s School of Business offers college credit courses to Juniors and Seniors. The current course offerings are: Business 101, Business Management 150, Business Law 150, and Compliance 101.

These courses introduce students to the functions of business and their interrelationships, develop speaking, presenting, and data analysis skills, examine basic managerial functions of planning, organizing, motivating, leading and controlling, introduce the nature and sources of law, the role of ethics in the legal system, the law of torts and crimes, the law of contracts, and real and personal property law. The final offering is an online course with certification from Kennedy Catholic in connection with PACE after passing an exam. It is an introduction into procedures and examinations for the Financial Industry.

Over 200 students have successfully completed Business 101 in its three year run at an incredible financial savings to themselves and their families. Each 3 credit course costs our students $450, while these courses individually cost $1800 per credit or $5400 per class. Should a student take all three courses for $1,350 actual savings would be $14,850 and the student would have earned 9 transferable credits.

The new Business Lab will have 3 analytical computers loaded with Bloomberg-like software called KoyFin. There will be three teams for the Lab and actual trading on TD Ameritrade with real money.

“The Lubin School of Business has partnered with Kennedy Catholic High School to offer motivated and qualified students the opportunity to complete college courses on the Kennedy Campus” said Pace Business Professor Dr. Patrick McGuigan. “Kennedy is vested in building a business culture on campus through the new business clubs and innovative curricula. Kennedy has been very proactive building infrastructure to support the program. The goal of the program is to help students develop into the best version of themselves!”

“Kennedy Catholic students enjoy a vast array of opportunities to earn college credits not only through Pace and the Lubin Business School, but through St. John’s University, SUNY Albany, and Iona College,” said Kennedy Catholic President and Principal Father Mark Vaillancourt, “We are very excited for this next step in advancing our business program and thank Pace for their continued partnership and support.”
