Kennedy Catholic Preparatory held its annual Christmas concert on Tuesday, December 7th 2021 in the auditorium. It was a very joyous occasion to have the concert for the first time since 2019. The Choir, String Ensemble, and Band spent many months preparing their pieces for the event and looked forward to displaying their talents to family and friends.
The concert began with performances from the String Ensemble and led by Mr. Glazman. They performed songs such as “Dance of the Reed Pipes”, “The Entertainer”, “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”, and “Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree”.
The Chorus, led by Mrs.Boston, performed classic Christmas songs such as “Little Drummer Boy” and “Were you there that Christmas Night?”. Pieces such as “Pie Jesu”, “The Chipmunk Song”, “River”, and “O Holy Night” were performed by soloists in the Chorus.
To close the event, the Band, led by Mr. Melito, played “For This Day a Child is Born”, “Encanto”, “Drummers Christmas Carol”, and “Images of Spain”. The Kennedy Catholic music programs and directors gave an amazing performance.
Robert Grande ’23, member of the Kennedy Band, reported that “this performance was very exciting. While we played the Spring Concert, this was the first time since the pandemic that we played the Christmas Concert. It was nice to be playing Christmas songs again. As a drummer, I personally enjoyed “Encanto” very much. “
Congrats to all musicians and singers on a wonderful show!
