Kennedy Catholic alumnus Gary Gill Hill ’22 is coming home. The former Gaels standout has been acquired by the New York Mets organization in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays, bringing the New Rochelle native back to New York as he continues his climb through professional baseball.

Gary’s path to the pros began right here at Kennedy Catholic. During his senior season, the right-handed pitcher threw two no-hitters for the Gaels before being selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the sixth round of the 2022 Major League Baseball Draft. Now pitching for the Mets’ Double-A affiliate in Binghamton, Gary made an immediate impression in his first start with the organization, throwing five scoreless innings.
