Tennis Testimonials

The Gaels of the Kennedy Catholic Prep Tennis teams are looking for players like you! Whether you’ve played before or never held a racket, tennis is a great team sport to try in the fall for girls or the spring for boys. Joining the tennis team will help develop your hand eye coordination, improve your stamina and cardiovascular endurance, and offer an opportunity to get outside and make some great new friends.

Rachel Cunningham ‘23

I play tennis because it’s a fun, exhilarating sport that has taught me skills that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. There is no doubt that tennis is a great social sport that I will continue to play throughout my life.  I learn something new about tennis every day, and there is always room to improve. Over these past four years of playing tennis at Kennedy Catholic, I have nothing but great memories from joining as a freshman and being welcomed by my teammates to now serving as captain for the past two years. Playing tennis is one of the best decisions I have made in high school.

Erin O’Mara ‘24

As a junior, I’m ready to start my third year on the tennis team. When I joined the team, the upperclassmen welcomed me and now I am excited to do the same for our new players. If you are a freshman, a current Kennedy student, or a transfer we are ready for you to join our tennis team. Tennis is the sport that brings my family together. My brother and sister both play on the college level at the University of Scranton (Brigid O’Mara ‘21). My goal is to also join the other Kennedy alumni who play at the college level.

Dylan Manzke ‘25

Last year I joined the tennis team as a freshman. It was a great way to meet new people and make new friends. I play tennis because of how fun and relaxed it can be. I had so much fun last year learning and improving. I can’t wait to play again this coming fall!

Amanda Calamis ‘23

I love to play tennis because everyone is super nice and helpful. I’ve learned so much from the help of my coach and teammates. All the girls are always super nice. Tennis has turned into one sport that I really enjoy.

The tennis team practices at the Hardscrabble Club in Brewster. The coach of Girls Tennis is Joe Melian. If you’re interested in learning more about either girls or boys tennis, contact Athletic Director Dominic Tassone at [email protected] and follow Kennedy Catholic across all social media channels.
