Girls soccer squad clinches league title

With a 5-0 victory over visiting Good Counsel on Wednesday, Oct. 8, the Kennedy Catholic varsity girls’ soccer team clinched the Bronx/Westchester CHSAA League Championship for the second year in a row.

Stephanie Amengual netted two goals, while Mary Eliseo, Lauren Wolter and Brianna Trainor tallied one goal apiece. Kerry Brosnan dished out three assists. Tara Heslin-Scott added an assist.

The Gaels, which improved to 9-1-1 and 8-0-1 in league play, led 4-0 at halftime in the win.

Congratulations to the girls!

Kennedy returns to the field when it hosts Cardinal Spellman at 4:15 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10.
