Kennedy Catholic’s 2003-2004 varsity boys basketball team, which won the Class B New York State and Federation championship, had a 10-year anniversary ceremony at halftime of the Gaels’ varsity game with Xavier on Saturday, Dec. 20.

Tom Nelligan was the squad’s head coach and Al Morales, the current varsity coach at Kennedy, was the assistant. The team consisted of Devin Brown, Pete Courtney, Mike DeStefano, Dan Gumb, Matt Maher, Rob McLaughlin, Dan O’Connell, Pat O’Gara, Greg Robstad, Tyler Tripodi, Mick Warncke, Joe Weldon, John Zanzarella and Tyrell Thompson, who tragically passed away in 2012. The team manager was Jamie DeStefano.

After the game, members of the ’03-’04 squad watched a video on their historic run and had cake with family and friends.
