Volleyball Players Compete at Happy Volley tournament at PSU

Several of our Kennedy Catholic volleyball players competed in the Happy Volley tournament over Memorial Day weekend at Penn State University.  The Gaels helped their teams to strong finishes across various divisions.
Happy Volley is an annual AAU volleyball tournament.  This year there were 392 teams competing in 12 divisions.  All of our Kennedy players competed on teams that finished among the top twenty.  We had two 2nd place finishes and one first place.
Congratulations to our participating Gaels:  Kelly Gallagher, Megan Erb, Teresa DeVino, Caroline Tompkins, Tara Cooney, Meagan Gallagher, Annie Burns, and incoming freshman, Eileen Cooney.
Senior, Kelly Gallagher assisted her team to a 2nd place finish in the 18 open gold bracket  Juniors, Megan Erb and Teresa DeVino helped their teams to achieve 3rd place in the 17 club gold bracket and 5th place in the 18 gold club bracket, respectively.
Sophomores, Caroline Tompkins and Tara Cooney assisted their teams in attaining 1st place in the 16 open silver bracket and 3rd place in the 16 club bronze bracket, respectively.
Freshmen, Meagan Gallagher and Annie Burns played in the 15 open division.  Gallagher’s team won the top prize in the gold bracket and Burns’ team came in 3rd in the bronze bracket.
Incoming freshman, Eileen Cooney’s team came in 2nd in the 14 open gold bracket.
Given the strong performances at the tournament and all of the effort the Gaels put in throughout the year, we expect great things for Kennedy Catholic volleyball in the future.
