Our Process
Acceptance into Kennedy Catholic Prep and placement in either our Honors Pre-AP or Core Pre-AP programs is contingent on the TACH’s exam results and the applicant’s prior middle-school performance records
The process to be admitted into Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School as a freshman is as follows:
Step 2
Sit for the TACHS Exam on Friday, November 3rd, 2023 listing Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School (Code 311) as one of your choices.
(Priority given to applicants listing us as 1st Choice)
Step 3
Ensure middle school records from 6th, 7th & 8th grades are sent to Kennedy Catholic Prep by December 15th, 2023.
Step 4
Letters of acceptance are issued on January 17th, 2024.
Class of 2028: Important Application Reminders & Information
The process to be admitted to Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School as a freshman is as follows:
- Recommend all applicants participate in our Gael for a Day Program
- Recommend applicant attend one of our two Open Houses in October 2023
- Register to take the TACHS entrance exam on Friday, November 3, 2023. Registration opens on Monday, August 21, 2023. (See below for more details)
- Sit for the TACHS Exam on November 3, 2023, listing Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School (Code 311) as one of your 3 choices
- Ensure Applicant Record Form (see below) includes 6th, 7th, and 8th grade academics and are sent directly to Kennedy Catholic from students’ middle school guidance department to the attention of the Admissions Department.
- Acceptance into Kennedy Catholic and placement in either our Honors Program Pre-AP Program and/or our Core Pre-AP Program is contingent on the TACH’s exam results and the applicant’s prior middle-school performance records
The President John F. Kennedy Courage & Compassion Merit-Based Scholarship
- Receipt of one of our four levels of this prestigious academic scholarship will be SOLEY based on an applicant’s level of achievement on the November 3, 2023 TACHS exam in comparison to the entire applicant pool applying to Kennedy for admission into the Class of 2028
- TACHS results are sent directly to Kennedy Catholic in mid-December
- Acceptance notifications to all applicants are issued on January 17, 2024

Financial Information
Tuition for the 2023-2024 school year is $10,175, payable directly to FACTS (A Nelnet Company) along with all other academic related fees. Please be advised that the Tuition, General School Fee, Registration Fee, iPad Fee, Student Activity Fees, AP Fee and FACTS tuition account set up fee are payable online through FACTS Tuition Management Company. Kennedy Catholic Scholarships
Kennedy Catholic offers several academic scholarships to incoming students. To be eligible for these scholarships, prospective students must take the Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS) entrance exam. The TACHS entrance exam is the scholarship exam for Kennedy Catholic. There are two categories of merit-based scholarship awards:
- The President’s Scholarship is a four-year, full tuition scholarship offered to entering eighth grade students who are the top achievers on the TACHS entrance exam, and have the academic record and teacher recommendations reflective of their high scholastic ability.
- The President’s Scholarship award is renewed each year, provided the student maintains a cumulative academic average of 92% or better, and maintains a positive and responsible presence within the Kennedy Catholic community.
- The Trustee’s Scholarship is an award of $4,000-to-$16,000 over four years ($1,000-to-$4,000 per year) and is awarded to those students who are the top performers on the TACHS entrance exam, and have the academic record and teacher recommendations reflective of their high scholastic ability.
- The Trustee’s Scholarship award is renewed each year, provided the student maintains a cumulative academic average of 92% or better, and maintains a positive and responsible presence within the Kennedy Catholic community.
Tuition Assistance
In order to be considered for a Kennedy Catholic Prep Tuition Assistance Award, the student’s family must submit a FACTS Student Aid Form each year no later than May 31st of the preceding school year.
For incoming freshman applicants (Class of 2028), an application needs to be filed with FACTS management starting November 27th, 2023 and be fully completed with all required documentation no later than January 5th, 2024 to be considered.
Tuition Assistance Awards – individual grants can range from $1,000 to $3,000, according to your percentage ranking by need among all applicants as determined by FACTS Management. All awards granted are posted to your FACTS account by June 30th for the next school year and advised through FACTS.
These awards need to be renewed each year and the student must maintain a cumulative academic average of 80% or better and your FACTS account be current.
Information for International and Transfer Students
The school is working with the following partners for international admissions:

Transfer students are accepted in their 9th, 10th, or 11th year. If a student is interested in transferring into Kennedy Catholic Prep he/she should make an appointment to meet with Mr. Brian Bruder by emailing him at [email protected]

Real College Credits
St. John’s University College Advantage Program
High School faculty credentials and course syllabi are approved by University Department Chairpersons.Seniors must have a minimum average of 80% (Juniors = 85%) and a combined math and critical reading SAT score of 1000. Students may enroll in up to 9 credits per semester. Tuition is $250 / semester course, and credit is transferable to many other institutions with a “C” or better in the course. (Students who enroll in St. John’s University receive a $2,000 tuition grant for each of the four years of their undergraduate study.) Currently eight courses are offered, and one is pending.
Iona College Link Program
Faculty credentials and course syllabi are approved by Iona College’s Department Chairpersons. Currently two Social Studies courses are offered for college credit, and another is pending.
